What do you think you see
Lying in the snow
Reflecting back at me?
All you thought you'd ever seen
Falling in the autumn leaves
It's broken now, but think
Did it ever seem real?

Curled up till all had passed
You thought that you could make it last
But you only prolonged the end
Made it harder back to mend
And now the pieces lie around
You come to me without a sound
Always we were waiting
But now we've lost our time.

And what were we to you anyway?
When night fades through to day
You see it clear in morning light
Realise was never right

Sitting all alone
Freezing in the snow

From the beginningFrom the beginning time set free
through the summer together we flee
and lying in the snow it's plain to see
the writings up upon the wall

Now it's over, no more to say
night is calling an end to the day
we've seen it all, we'll be on our way

Now we're gone away with nowhere left to go
sitting through the summer and waiting in the snow
close your eyes and pray there's hope
that someday we'll find we're not alone
